Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

My house was broken into, and I was hit the hardest. :I No fun.

BUT YOU GUYS. THIS:
My grandma for some reason couldn't get into her house, so she came to our house around 1:00 and was going to enter our house when my grandpa called her back and told her to try again. Well, the guy probably saw her and panicked, running out of the house before he could steal anything big. Thank goodness for my grandma, this just makes me thank my guardian angel too. ♥
BUT, my neighbor saw a HIGH SCHOOL GUY WITH A BACKPACK and ON A SCOOTER riding down the path down our golf course ten minutes later! So she saw the guy!
Police came and stuff, fingerprinted the OJ jug. Didn't get anything. Our back door was pried open so yeah.

Things stolen:

Me: Jewelry, money, 3DS, DSi, DSlite, 2 games, action replay, Kindle, backpack.

Bro: Scooter

Dad: Tablet

Mom: Jewelry, iPad, Kindle.

And they drank all of our OJ and left the jug out. ;-;

Hah! xD Wow! That's actually kind of surprising! Once, my mom's car got broken into and there was her little money pouch thingy, that had a few hundred dollars in it (just because it was to send with my brother for his job) and it was literally laying RIGHT THERE!!! on the seat, and he took her daily pills that were in her glovebox, but he didn't even touch the money. XD It was pretty weird! I guess we got lucky and got a stupid robber. XD
